When not playing music, Marikit plays and competes in several sports, including athletics, netball, and swimming (she is a butterfly specialist).

She enjoys reading, staying fit and healthy, and having fun with her friends.

Outside of school, Marikit is part of the Wandsworth Music Academy, and is a former member of Tomorrow’s Warriors, and the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy. She is the bassist in the Wandsworth Music Academy senior pop band. She learns from music teachers, YouTube videos and mostly by ear or reading music. She collaborates with other young musicians. She is always looking for new opportunities and challenges to grow as an artist.

Marikit aspires to be a professional musician and to share her music with the world. She is a shining example of what hard work, passion, and talent can do. She has already achieved remarkable success and recognition at a young age.

Marikit made her professional debut in the 2021-2022 UK & Ireland Tour of the School of Rock, playing the role of bassist, Katie. She impressed the audiences and critics with her musical talent and stage presence. She performed live in front of a 9.8 million TV audience and 100 thousand theatre goers. She received rave reviews and standing ovations for her performance.

Marikit remains close friends with several of the cast she performed alongside in the School of Rock. Indigo Rocks is the name of the band she formed with several of them. Look for much more from them.

Fun Facts About Marikit

Marikit was born on 6th April, 2009, in Leeds, UK. Her mother, Sofia, is originally from Surigao, in the Philippines whilst her father Tony, is of Nigerian descent. She has an older sister named Sharah and a younger brother, Makisig, who is also an actor and musician.
